Glorious Grass

The day we worked and waited for has finally come. Only a few of you know how much this really means to us - thank you for being so patient with our eternal project.
This is what we started with on Day 1
(if you look really closely you'll notice there is an actual house there)

Yikes.

And finally . . . this is what we have on Day 730.

(exactly 2 years later)

We did all the work ourselves with the exception of a few dangerous trees and stump grinding. I think I know only a small part of the feeling my dad describes from building a house with his own two hands (and any other little one's he can solicit help from) and then having the opportunity to sit back and admire it. I really love this yard. Probably beacuse I've (speaking for Dakota here mostly) have put a lot of time and sweat into getting to this point.

What a peculiar thing to see two people fight over who gets to mow the lawn.
And so happy to do it!
Wasn't just the first time either!

That is an amazing tranformation! Paul and I are very impressed.

Just the other day we were looking at pictures of our house online from 8 years ago. The trees were much smaller then and I was commenting how much nicer our house looked with fewer trees blocking it. That's another summer project for us though our current tree situation pales in comparison to yours 2 years ago!

Wow, that looks great. When did you cuts down all the trees and get the grass to grow? I know that it's been a while since we were last over there but man you did a lot since then. Great job
